Easy Last Minute DIY Mother's Day Gifts

Mother's Day is this weekend, did you forget? That's okay. Above & Beyond Roofing has your back with these easy, last minute DIY Mother's Day gift ideas. No matter how you choose to celebrate this weekend, the most important thing is that you show mom just how much you appreciate all she does for you.

Breakfast in Bed

One of the easiest gifts you can give your mom on Mother's Day is the gift of not having to prepare breakfast for everyone. Get up early and bring her breakfast in bed. It can be something as simple as fruit and yogurt, or whip up some tasty pancakes or eggs and bacon for mom to enjoy.

A Homemade Card

Often times store bought cards get read and then end up in the trash. Give your mother something made with love that she can cherish. Grab some art supplies you have around the house and create a card yourself. You could even add a picture of the two of you together. This is a great DIY gift for younger children, as they can make it their own, there's no set of instructions to follow.

Sugar Body Scrub

Pamper mom with this simple DIY sugar scrub made from ingredients that are likely already in your pantry! To make the scrub, you'll need to mix together about 2 1/2 cups of Sugar in the Raw, 3/4 cup white granulated sugar, 1/4 cup almond oil, and 4-5 Tbsp of vanilla extract (or coconut, almond, orange, etc.). Grab a glass jar with a lid to put the scrub in. Find some ribbon, paper and markers to decorate the jar with and you're done.

Chocolate Covered Strawberries

Chocolate is the way to a mother's heart! Instead of buying her a pre-packaged box of chocolates, why not make her a homemade chocolaty treat? Chocolate covered strawberries are easy to make and even easier to eat! Pick up some fresh strawberries and chocolate chips (milk, dark or white chocolate) and voila, you have a treat for mom!

"10 Things I Love About You" Jar

This is an easy and thoughtful gift that you can easily make from items around the house. Grab a mason jar or some other container with a lid. If you can't find one, you can make a book out of paper instead of a jar. Decorate the jar with papers and markers, creating a label that reads "10 Things I Love About You." Then cut some paper into 10 small pieces. Write one thing you love about your mom on each piece and place it in the jar. Pulling them out of the jar and reading them is sure to put a smile on your mom's face.
