Their PINK Insulation has been used in millions of homes all across the country.  Their first fiberglass shingle patent was in 1965, and they helped convert the old organic shingle marketplace throughout the 1980's.  Today, the fiber glass and asphalt composition of roofing shingles plays a crucial role in the durability and performance of all asphalt shingles.

You Need More Than Just Shingles to Protect Your Home!

In order to protect your home, you are going to need more than just some great shingles.  Owens Corning suggests a Total Protection Roofing System composed of many different essential roofing products.  These products are layered to work together to maximize the performance and durability of your Lake of the Ozarks roof. While high-quality shingles and underlayment products protect against the weather outside, ventilation products are needed to help balance air flow to control temperature and humidity inside the attic.

Owens Corning Total Protection Roofing System

  • Work below the surface to help guard vulnerable areas where water and ice dams can do the most damage to a roof: eaves, valleys, dormers and skylights.
  • A series of products, each created to meet the needs of a specific roofing application or climate.
  • Especially important for use in areas that experience extreme weather.
  • Apply WeatherLock underlayment on slopes 2:12 to 4:12 across full deck to help prevent leaks and ice dams.
  • Deck Defense High Performance Roof Underlayment - Durable synthetic construction provides an immediate defense layer so strong it can protect your roof for up to 6 months** of exposure plus act as a secondary water-shedding barrier for long-term moisture protection.
  • Fiberglas TM Reinforced Felt Underlayment - Adds an extra layer of protection between the shingles and the entire roof deck to help prevent damage from wind-driven rain.

  • The first step in the proper installation of the shingles.
  • Provide a clean look with a straight edge at the eave and along the rake.
  • Continuous sealant bead helps prevent blow-offs and water infiltration in a vulnerable area of the roof.
  • Your roof comprises up to 50% of the face of the house you see from the curb. Shingles are the star player in curb appeal. Owens Corning offers a wide range of shapes, sizes and colors to choose from.
  • Shingles not only serve as the first layer of defense against the forces of nature, they also help define the character of the home.
  • From innovations such as the patented SureNail Technology to the multiple granule colors and shadowing used in the TruDefinition Duration shingles, Owens Corning shingles are designed to provide strength and durability without sacrificing beauty.
  • The VentSure Balanced Air Ventilation System features a wide variety of intake and exhaust products as well as active and passive options.
  • These products are designed to work together to help prevent heat and moisture build-up that can lead to premature aging and cracking of wood and other roofing materials. Unwanted heat also can transfer back down into living areas - which reduces energy efficiency.
  • VentSure Ridge Vents provide an attractive more uniform and finished look.
  • VentSure Roof vent products offer another ventilation option and are available in multiple styles and colors.

  • Add an attractive, finished look to your roof's peaks and help protect the ridge vent.
  • Hip & Ridge shingles are compatible with the full line of Owens Corning™ roofing shingles.
  • Warranted concurrent with Owens Corning™ shingles installed for a balanced and protected system.

The Total Protection Roofing System is designed to give you the assurance that all your roof components are working together to maximize the performance of your new roof at the Lake of the Ozarks and to enhance the comfort and enjoyment of those who live beneath it.  As an Owens Corning Platinum Preferred Contractor, Above & Beyond Roofing is here to help you make sure you're getting the best products for your roof.  Contact us today at 573-302-0354 to get started on your next roofing project!

4 Reasons for a New Roof

Whether your faced with an immediate need for a new roof at the Lake of the Ozarks or you are planning a roofing project in the near future, Above & Beyond Roofing is here to help!  As an Owens Corning Platinum Preffered Contractor, you can rest assured your roof is in good hands.  Here are just a few reasons for needing a new roof and some information to assist you with the process of each.

Increase Your Home's Value

By replacing an old roof, you can add curb appeal to your home and increase its percieved value.  If you plan to sell your home, this could be a great project for you to take on.  When selling a house, the first impression is very important and a new roof could give you that edge to attract buyers.  Not only does a new roof play a critical part in protecting the buyers home investment, it can really transform the look of a home. The return on investment for a new roof ranks at the top of the list.  Use the Owens Corning Design EyeQ visualization tool to upload a photo of your home and see what a new roof could do for you!

Building a New Home

Building a new home can be the best type of roofing project because you have the opportunity to design it exactly the way you want it!  You can choose from any style and color you desire for your brand new roof. You can browse the different options at www.OwensCorning.com.

Leaks

A leaky roof is typically easily identified by water spots on the ceilings, but sometimes its more difficult to find the cause of the leak.  If shingles are missing, cracked or otherwise damaged, water can leak into the home and end up causing a lot of damage if the warning signs are ignored.  When you find a leak, you may assume the shingles are at fault, but there could be other issues at hand.  Water entry can be caused by missing flashing around a chimney or even an ice dam.  Ice dams are formed by the continual thawing of snow over the warmer portions of the roof and refeesing over the cold eave.  Ice dams can cause water to backup under shingles and if you don't have an ice & water underlayment, you can experience leaks.  As your Lake of the Ozarks roofer, we're here to help you find the cause of your leak and get it fixed!

Storm Damage

While your roof is designed to withstand the elements, some more intense storms can still cause some damage.  Storm damage could be anything from wind damage to hail damage or damage from other falling debris.  Wind can cause shingles to blow off your roof, but sometimes wind damage is not that easy to see, like if the adhesive seal is broken. Hail can bruise and even crack your shingles, as can other falling debris.  If you suspect storm damage, contact Above & Beyond roofing for a free roof inspection at the Lake of the Ozarks!

Above & Beyond Roofing is here to help with all your Lake of the Ozarks roofing needs!  We've been in the business for 15 years and and our staff has more than 100 year's combined experience in the roofing industry.  Our service areas include Lake of the Ozarks, Jefferson City, Lebanon, Warsaw and Fort Leonard Wood for residential and commercial roofing!

8 General Warning Signs Your Roof Might Be Done For

Sometimes the need for a new roof at the Lake of the Ozarks can be obvious, like a big hole in the roof or water leakage. However, it's possible for a roof to naturally reach the end of its useful life without experiencing a roof failure.  If replacing an old roof is delayed, it could result in bigger problems in the long run.  Be sure to watch for warning signs to give yourself plenty of time to plan the project.

Potential Signs That Your Roof May Need Replaced

  • Shingle edges are curled or shingle tabs are cupped.
  • Bald spots where granules are missing.
  • Cracked shingles.
  • Your roof is at least 20 years old. Although many shingles today are produced for durability, many factors can accelerate the aging of shingles. For example, your shingles can be negatively impacted by improper roof ventilation.
  • Neighbors are getting new roofs. Homes built around the same time period, experiencing the same types of weather conditions could mean they all are about at the end of the useful life.
  • The roof just looks old and worn.
  • Dark streaks. Airborne algae cause dark streaks on roof decks. While this may not necessarily harm the roof shingles, it may not look good. Algae streaks can be removed using a 50:50 blend of water and bleach sprayed on your roof. It is important to use a low volume garden hose so you do not knock the protective granules off your shingles. It is also important that you protect your landscaping from the bleach run-off.
  • Moss. Moss can grow on roof surfaces that don’t get much sunlight especially in cool, moist climates. Moss growth can be more than a cosmetic issue. Moss holds moisture against the roof surface and overtime in freezing climates can cause damage to the granules on the top of the shingles. Moss can be brushed off but it won’t prevent it from growing again; take care not to damage the shingle surface. You may need to contact a professional roofing company at the Lake of the Ozarks.
