Image
At Above & Beyond Roofing our work focuses heavily on commercial and residential in and around the Lake area – there is literally no job too big or too small. We guarantee high quality work along with professional and personal service.  We can do everything from repairs to new construction, shingles to tile roofs at the Lake of the Ozarks .  So today we want to talk to you about metal roofs and why you might want to consider this option for your home or business.   MetalRoofing.com has a lot of great examples of why you should choose metal over other roofing materials. Valuable Investment Although the initial cost of a premium metal roof is higher than most other roofing materials, you'll end up saving money in the long run.  Materials such as asphalt require re-roofing every 10 to 20 years, whereas a metal roof can last a lifetime!  A metal roof can also increase the resale value of your home and in some places can even reduce your homeowner's insu...

10 Questions to Ask Your Roofer Before Hiring

Image
Above & Beyond Roofing is your locally owned residential and commercial roofing specialist. However, there are many other roofing companies at the Lake of the Ozarks for you to choose from. So how do you make your decision?  Be sure to ask your roofer the following questions before hiring them! 1. Do you have a current license, general liability insurance and workman's comp insurance?  You want to hear yes to all of these questions and you should ask to see relevant paperwork for proof.  If the company cannot provide proof, chances are they don't have insurance.  At Above & Beyond Roofing, we carry $2 million in insurance and workman's comp for all employees. 2. How long have you been in the business?  Can you provide references?  You want to make sure that the company you are working with has been around for awhile and will be sticking around.  The last thing you want to happen is for the company to go out of business a couple months...

10 Different Types of Roofs to Consider for Your Home

Image
Example of a Gambrel Roof Here at Above and Beyond Roofing all we think about is roofs, but for many people that is one of the last things they think about when buying or building a house.  There are so many different roof styles for you to consider when designing and building a new house.  Although many people move into homes that are already built and have to just accept the roof shape, it is still something to consider when looking at buying a house. Each different type of roof has certain benefits that you should keep in mind when choosing a roof style. Houzz.com has a great list of 10 different types of roofs for you to consider. 1. Mansard Roof - This is a French style roof made up of four slopes, two on each side of the home.  The lower slope is steeper than the upper and the upper may or may not be seen from the ground. 2. Gambre l - This Dutch-inspired roof is very similar to the Mansard Roof, but the differences are that the gambrel has vertical gable ...

Signs that High Winds have Damaged Your Roof!

Image
We only 27 days until the arrival of Spring... and although we all look forward to the warmer temperatures, spring weather can be very harmful to your roof.  Typically we'll see heavy rain and high winds that can wear down and damage your roof.   Here are the top 3 things that indicate your roof has suffered or is susceptible to weather damage: Curling Shingles - Shingles that curl or bubble up are vulnerable and can break during high winds. Deteriorating Shingles - Shingles that have reached the end of their life span will typically begin to loose their granules.  Look in your gutters and downspouts to see if granules are accumulating. Missing Shingles - Shingles in your yard or shingles missing from your roof after a storm is a clear sign that you need to repair or replace your roof. If you suspect that you have damage to your roof caused by clogged gutters and icicles, be sure to give us a call. We would be happy to give you a free inspection and quote re...
