Condensation Can Damage Your Roof

The winter weather has been very harsh this year...it can also be very hard on your roof!  Missouri Weather can be especially troublesome due to the fluctuation in temperatures.  One day we have snow or ice and the next day we basking in the sunshine!!  This fluctuation in temperatures can cause several problems, one of the most common problems is Condensation. What is Condensation?   Condensation is when moisture develops at the roofs ceiling area and becomes trapped.  As your home heats up during the day, the roofing material absorbs the suns heat and creates an air cavity between the insulation and roof.  Moisture is drawn into the cavity and becomes trapped and is not able to vent and dry out.  When your home cools off, the trapped water condenses and gets into the wood of the roof. Brave the Cold with the 2014 Polar Plunge for Special Olympics

What better time to jump in the beautiful Lake of the Ozarks Waters than during the cold month of February!!  There is only one reason anyone would do that...the 2014 Lake of the Ozarks Polar Plunge !! If you haven't been to the Plunge, be sure to join the fun on February 22nd at the Lake of the Ozarks Public Beach #2!! The Polar Plunge is a fun event that is used to raise money for the Special Olympics Missouri.  Each participant collects donations and pledges as they commit to plunge into the icy waters of Lake of the Ozarks.  The event has brought more than 600 plungers and raised more than $200,000 in past years.
