Matterhorn Roofing Products

Matterhorn Metal Roofing products come in three different styles: shake, slate and tile. These products are stronger than steel and come in a variety of different colors to fit your style and needs.

Shake
The shake panels include eight separate elevation changes to replicate the irregularity of real wood shakes. Chiseling and cracks are also used to mimic the look of real wood. The specialized chiseled trough is at maximum height to allow constant water movement away from the roof deck. The shake product line captures the four different stages in the life cycle of a cedar roof. From a rich and darkly stained color to an iconic weathered silver-grey, homeowners can choose a color variation that works with their home's exterior.

Slate
The slate panels include eight separate elevation changes to replicate the irregularity of real slate. Chiseling and cracks are also used to mimic the look of real slate. The specialized chiseled trough is at maximum height to allow constant water movement away from the roof deck. The slate product line is available in 5 different colors: brownstone, castle gray, cobalt, mountain sage and storm slate.

Tile
The tile panels offer Matterhorn's 5/8" reveal, which provides the character and depth that your home deserves. They are also lightweight when compared many other shingle brands. The tiles attach with a tongue and groove fit, which is then concealed. There are eight different colors that make up the Matterhorn tile line. Traditional and contemporary colors come together for a hue that will compliment any style home. Choose from brick blend, jade, terracotta, Tuscan stone, weathered canyon, weathered sage, weathered clay or weathered sequoia.

Energy Efficiency

The Matterhorn Metal Roofing shingles are able to reflect up to 66% of incoming solar radiation. Every Matterhorn roof is coated with a PVDF Tri-Pigment Reflective Paint System, which helps reflect solar heat on a roof. They have the ability to re-emit up to 89% of absorbed heat. By keeping the roofing surface cool and preventing excess heat from escaping into the home, your roof is reducing energy expenditures on air conditioning. In addition, the lowered demand on electricity improves the electricity grid and reduces greenhouse gas emissions, so these roofing products are good for the planet.

Product Performance

Every Matterhorn Metal Roof has been independently laboratory tested to withstand winds up to 130 MPH, which is equivalent to an F2 tornado. While the competition tile roofs can break from the freeze/thaw cycles and from the sheer weight of snow, Matterhorn products are purposefully designed to withstand the harshest winter climates. Over time, regular tile roofs become brittle and easily susceptible to hail damage. They can easily break during severe hail storms, and the hail rating on asphalt shingles varies between manufacturers. Even severe, wind-riven hail is no match for a Matterhorn Metal Roof. As for fire, all Matterhorn panels hold the highest fire rating available. Regular tile roofs can warp during a fire or collapse from eight, and the fire rating on asphalt roofs also varies greatly depending on the manufacturer. When it comes to product performance, Matterhorn clearly offers a lot of benefits.
